...and this new interface sucks, too!

Once again I find myself slacking off on the Let's Get TANKED! project.  Mainly because I'm lazy, but also because hey, I bought a house a few months ago!  Home-ownership is full of new responsibilities and new things to take up my time (especially given my inventive bent--lots of projects I want to accomplish now).

Anyway, hopefully later this summer I'll buckle down and get some development done.  Maybe take a vacation from my paying job and work on it.

I won't say "stay tuned"... but do flip back to my channel now and then.

#@%$ It Feels Good to Be a Codah

After stagnating for a couple months, I finally sat down with Let's Get Tanked! again and wrote code.  Last night I resolved a bug in a 2D layout framework I've been building that was causing things not to be drawn, and I added some really cool (in my opinion) layout functionality that automates vertical and horizontal alignment of 2D elements.  This is a big deal because it simplifies later coding to design menus and such.  Simpler coding down the line means I'm less likely to think "man this is so tedious" and take another break.

Next up is a section of code that will allow players (and more importantly, me!) to design custom arenas.  Then it'll be implementing spawn zones, followed by local multiplayer sign-in.

Lapse

Hello, faithful few.

While I realize I was never terribly prolific here to begin with, I thought I'd pop in nevertheless and note that I'm especially unprolific (it's a word because I SAY SO!) lately because I'm in the process of buying a house.  I close in just over a week, and then it'll be moving and buying furniture and whatnot, so development on Let's Get Tanked will continue to stagnate for the time being.

Over and out!

Holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving, dear readers*!

I'm hoping to get some good work done over the holiday weekend.  I'll be spending a lot of time at my parents', availing myself of their easy chair.  I find a good recliner is the most comfortable place for laptop-based development.

* - I know you're out there.  I can hear you breathing!

On Videos, and Them Not Existing

So I got some friends to play Let's Get Tanked! in its current state so I could capture a video.  Except I pressed the wrong button, and no video was captured.  Sadly I didn't realize it until much later.  There WILL BE VIDEO!  Just not as soon as I'd hoped.
